How IGNIS heaters work
Both IGNIS models have an external fire chamber: the fire is fed from outside the sauna, so nobody needs to open the cabin door or carry fuel inside while bathing. Smoke and combustion stay outside, which keeps the air in the cabin cleaner, and a fire-view window shows the flames.
Wood pellets or firewood
IGNIS heaters burn either wood pellets or dry firewood. Pellets are uniform and give a steady, easy-to-control fire with little ash; dry firewood gives the classic crackling sauna experience. Always use well-dried wood — wet wood smokes more and gives less heat.
Which IGNIS for your sauna?
IGNIS 01 (40 × 45 × 55 cm) has the higher heat capacity and suits our larger cabins: the Sauna Barrel and the Sauna Cube Large for 4–6 persons. IGNIS 02 (35 × 35 × 50 cm) is compact and efficient, suited to smaller cabins such as the 2-person Sauna Cube Small. Not sure which fits your project? Prefer an electric heater?
Every Pinewood Sauna can also be fitted with an electric heater instead of a wood-burning one — a good choice where pellets or firewood are not practical.

What fuel do IGNIS heaters use?

Why is the fire chamber outside the sauna?
